Dr. Wu Qiang graduated from the 8-year Medical/Biology/Chemistry combination program in Tianjin Medical University and Nankai University in 1991. He continued his graduate study at University of Louisville, Louisville, KY, USA. Dr. Wu received his M.S. degree in Oral Microbiology in 1993 and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology & Toxicology from University of Louisville, KY in 1997. Then he joined Vanderbilt University and did the post-doc research at the Dept. of Anesthesiology.
Bearing the vision of opportunities in Sino-American technology exchange in biotech and healthcare related areas, Dr. Wu expected mutual benefits of product commercializing to the U.S. and China. In 1997, Dr. Wu founded his first start-up company, Newtrans International Company in Nashville, TN. US. and in 1998 he set up the Tianjin Newtrans Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Development, Ltd. in Tianjin of China. It is one the 1st 10 enterprises founding in Tianjin Huayuan Hi-Tech Industrial Park. Since then, Dr. Wu developed the business into the areas in science and technology industrialization, international trade, healthcare, nutriceuticals, hospital management, and property management system which lead him to found or partner in the following companies: Tianjin Newtrans Technology Development, Ltd., Tianjin Newtrans Im/Ex, Ltd. Tianjin Longene Bioengineering, Ltd., Sino-US Chinese Health Company in the US, Beijing Zhongkang Dezhong Hospital Management Company, Tianjin Morris Property Services, Ltd., China America International Company in the US, Tianjin Buyus International Inc., Ltd., and Southeast Technology, LLC in the US.
Dr. Wu is also active in introducing investment opportunities in China to the US investors. From 2002 to 2006, Dr. Wu was the partner of J International Company in Nashville, TN, US which is a portfolio company under Vanderbilt University Technology Corp.. From 2003 to 2005, he served as the Asian Director and a board member at SEGES Fund. Through the investment activities, he made significant contributions in seeking investment for several Chinese universities and for oversea funds as well. In the mean time, he also provides consulting services to a number of American companies who has business in China, offers helps to several Chinese companies to explore opportunities in the US.
Dr. Wu is enthusiastic about social affairs and community services. He generously donated and supported the International Trade Contest for students at Tianjin Polytech University in 2008. He and his companies also made rapid donations to Red Cross for the Sichuan earthquake in May 2008. He is a member of the Overseas Chinese Entrepreneur Association Network and its CEO Club, Chinese-American Pharmaceutical Expert Association. He is the founder and the vice President at Tennessee Chinese Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in China. He is also honored to be the Visiting Professor at Tianjin Polytech University and a member at the Advisor Board at College of Business in Tennessee State University.

Because of Dr. Wu’s effort, a number of Sino-American exchange programs between schools, companies and organizations have been set up and running successfully.
Dr. Wu also helps Chinese local enterprises to obtain market entrance of U.S.A., such as applying FDA certificate and EPA approval. With his help and guidance, one environment protection product successfully got EPA approval in Mar. 2007, another pesticide product will be granted FDA certificate in the coming year. They are the 1st Chinese pesticide and device granted approval by the US EPA in the history.
Dr. Wu is also an inventor who is holding two patents by the State Patent Office of the People’s Republic of China.
